Pre-Arranged Funerals
Pre-arranging (or pre-planning) a funeral means making decisions about your funeral in advance, about how you would like it to be done, so family knows your wishes and doesn’t have to guess or make last minute choices under stress. it’s also a way to relieve your loved ones of some of the emotional burden.
Here are the key aspects of pre-arranging with David Lawson:
What it involves
- Setting out your funeral wishes (“end of life wishes”). You decide now things like whether you want cremation or burial, what sort of service, what music, readings, any special touches, what coffin, etc. This gives clarity about how you want your funeral to be.
- Using a questionnaire to capture these details. I provide a simple questionnaire to help you, so that all the details are recorded. I recommend filling it out alongside someone close (family, executor) so everyone is aware of what you want.
- Free of charge. I offer pre-arranging your funeral without charge. that is, to record what you want, there is no cost for that. There is no need to pay under this particular service.
- Clarification that it’s different from a pre-paid funeral plan. Pre-arranging does not mean pre-paying, though pre-paid plans might be an option. Pre-arrangement is about the preferences and wishes, whereas a funeral plan involves paying ahead so costs are secured. With David Lawson, pre-arrangement is an option even if you do not wish to pay ahead.
Benefits of pre-arranging.
- Gives you control: you get to choose how you’d like your funeral to go.
- Relieves pressure on family: they don’t have to make hard decisions while grieving.
- Helps avoid misunderstandings what you would have wanted.
- Can help the funeral proceed more smoothly because the details are already decided.
